Co-Producing

We did more than brand the film - we brought talented members of TROPE to the team and co-produced it.

  • Writer: Matthew Wilkins

Matthew Wilkins is not only a great screenplay writer, he’s also a script doctor. Over the years he has saved many films from themselves - this one included.

  • Composer: Nathaniel Levisay

Nate has worked on multiple projects with TROPE and every one of them is better for it. He’s a natural communicator through emotion whether it be a single cello or a full orchestra.

  • 2nd Camera: Clinton Lugert

A talented art director, photographer and editor Clint not only shot 2nd camera on Dawning, he also designed & printed the posters.

 Results

The Netflix logo in red text on a white background.
Amazon Prime Video logo with blue and black text and a curved arrow underneath.

Though Dawning was a micro-budget film, we ended up earning a ton of press, winning many festivals and landing a distribution deal on both Netflix and Amazon.

 Posters

This was the first film we hand screen printed limited edition posters for. It was messy and wonderful.

 Finding the Color

Believe it or not, the striking color of the Dawning posters is not inspired by Halloween. We took every frame in the film and found the average color. Thanks to the knotty pine interior and the color of the main character’s shirt, that landed on orange. Oh, and also it looks like Halloween colors and it’s a horror movie.
